PM Modi’s Secunderabad visit: Traffic curbs, diversions on May 10
HYDERABAD: The Malkajgiri Police Commissionerate has issued a traffic advisory ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s proposed visit to Secunderabad on Sunday, May 10, 2026, where he is scheduled to address a public meeting at Parade Ground.
Police said elaborate traffic arrangements have been made to ensure smooth movement of VVIP and VIP convoys and maintain public order. Traffic restrictions and diversions will be imposed on several roads and junctions leading to Parade Ground depending on convoy movement and crowd mobilisation.
Authorities warned commuters of likely traffic congestion in and around Secunderabad and advised the public to plan journeys in advance and avoid routes leading to the venue during the evening hours.
Key diversions announced across city routes
Commuters travelling from Begumpet towards Sangeeth Junction have been advised to take the Paradise–Patny–Clock Tower–Sangeeth route. Diversions will be enforced at CTO Junction. The same diversion will apply in the reverse direction.
Motorists travelling between Begumpet and Trimulgherry have been advised to use all flyovers via St John’s Rotary, Shenoy Junction, AOC and KV Junction. Similar diversions will be applicable in the opposite direction.
Vehicles moving from Balanagar towards Secunderabad should take the Balanagar Junction–Fathenagar–Ameerpet–Panjagutta–Begumpet–Sangeeth route. Diversions will be imposed at Balanagar Junction.
An alternative route has also been suggested via Panjagutta, Begumpet, Rasoolpura Junction, Minister Road and Ranigunj towards Secunderabad. Diversions will be in place at Rasoolpura Junction.
Traffic from Secunderabad towards Trimulgherry will be diverted via Clock Tower, Sangeeth, St John’s Rotary, Shenoy Junction, AOC and KV Junction.
Commuters travelling from Secunderabad towards Bowenpally have been advised to take the Clock Tower–Patny–Paradise–CTO–Bowenpally route.
Traffic moving from Tank Bund towards Trimulgherry may proceed via Paradise, CTO, Tadbund, Diamond Point and Bowenpally Market.
Public advised to use Metro services
Police advised commuters to preferably use Metro Rail and other public transport systems to minimise congestion.
Heavy vehicles, Telangana State Road Transport Corporation buses and private travel buses have been advised to avoid roads leading to Parade Ground between 13.00 IST and 21.00 IST.
Roadside parking near the venue has been prohibited. Police said unauthorised vehicles parked on roadsides would be towed and prosecuted.
Emergency vehicles will be facilitated based on prevailing ground conditions, officials said.
Parking facilities, helpline announced
Police said 12 designated parking areas have been earmarked for visitors attending the public meeting. QR codes have been arranged for navigation assistance to parking locations.
Traffic movement will be monitored through CCTV surveillance and traffic control rooms. Real-time updates will be shared through social media platforms and FM radio channels.
