Popular singer Kalpana found unconscious after allegedly consuming sleeping pills
Hyderabad: Popular playback singer Kalpana Raghavendar has reportedly attempted to end her life by consuming sleeping pills at her residence in Nizampet on Tuesday.
She was immediately taken to Holistic Hospital in an unconscious state for treatment. She is currently undergoing treatment and is said to be out of danger.
Reports suggest that the singer had locked herself in her flat for two days. She is residing with her husband at Vertex Privilege in Nizampet.
After receiving a call from the neighbours, the police arrived at her flat and broke open the door and found the singer lying unconscious in her room. The circumstances surrounding the incident are still under investigation. Kalpana resides with her husband.

Kalpana is one of the most popular singers in Tollywood. She has sung numerous songs in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi films. She has collaborated with legendary musicians such as AR Rahman, Ilaiyaraaja, SP Balasubrahmanyam, and KV Mahadevan, delivering many melodious songs. Apart from singing, she has also gained recognition as a dubbing artist.
She participated in Nagarjuna’s Bigg Boss Telugu season 1. She won the South Indian singing show Star Singer season 5 in 2010. The singing show is hosted by the Malayalam TV channel Asianet.
