Pistol found at Hyderabad mall exposes security lapse
HYDERABAD: A pistol found on a man during a dispute between two groups at LuLu Mall Hyderabad in KPHB Colony triggered concern among people present at the mall. Police later found that the man had a valid licence for the weapon.
Pistol spotted during police intervention at mall
According to police, an argument broke out between a family from Kerala and a group of people from Hyderabad’s Old City at the mall’s B1 parking area around 10.30pm on Sunday.
People at the spot alerted police. As police tried to pacify the two groups, they noticed a pistol in the pocket of a man from the Old City.
Police book mall over security checks
KPHB police station house officer S. Rajasekhar Reddy reached the mall and seized the pistol. Police later found that the man had a valid licence for the weapon.
Rajasekhar Reddy said a case was registered against the mall over inadequate security checks at the entrance.
