Pink Power Run Raises Breast Cancer Awareness

Hyderabad: Hyderabad’s Pink Power Run, sponsored by Sudha Reddy Foundation and Megha Engineering and Infrastructures Limited (MEIL) Foundation, saw an overwhleming response from thousands of runners on Sunday morning.

Pink Power Run 2024, organised for creating breast cancer awareness among the people and to promote women’s health and empowerment, was held from 5:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. which featured three categories 10 km, 5 km, and 3 km.

Health Minister C Damodar Raja Narasimha, PV Krishna Reddy, MD of MEIL, and Sudha Reddy, Founder of Sudha Reddy Foundation, flagged off the 3K, 5K, and 10K runs.

Cyberabad police had issued a traffic advisory for the breast cancer awareness run in the city. The general public and commuters were advised to take traffic diversions during the three distinct run events.

The inaugural edition of Pink Power Run which featured 3K, 5K, and 10K runs witnessed a mix of age groups and backgrounds who took part in the runs to support the cause.

Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy graced the event and felicitated the winners. Addressing the particpants at the GMC Balayogi Main stadium, Revanth Reddy emphasised women’s health as the cornerstone of thriving families and communities. He congratulated all participants, encouraging collective action to build a healthier, more empowered future for Telangana’s women.

“Health of women is the foundation to the well-being of families and communities, ” the Chief minister said.

On this occasion, Health Minister Damodar Raja Narasimha said cancer screening and early detection would play a significant part in increasing the chances of successful treatment.
