Telangana EAGLE Raids Moinabad Farmhouse; TDP MP Putta Mahesh Kumar Among Party Group

HYDERABAD: The Elite Action Group for Drug Law Enforcement (EAGLE) of Telangana Police conducted a late-night raid at former BRS MLA Pilot Rohit Reddy’s farmhouse in Moinabad, Rangareddy district, after receiving information about an unauthorised party. During the raid, a Delhi-based real estate businessman allegedly fired a gun, police said.
Yogesh Gautam, Chevella Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), said the raid was carried out around 09.30 PM on Saturday after police received information about a party being organised without permission at the farmhouse.
Gun fired during police raid
According to the DCP, as the police entered the premises, Namit Sharma fired one round from a gun.
“The weapon belongs to Ritesh Reddy, the younger brother of Rohit Reddy. The gun has a valid licence, but it was Namit Sharma who fired it,” Gautam said.
Police also recovered about two grams of suspected white powder, believed to be drugs, from the premises.
Five attendees test positive in drug screening
Police said 10 people — nine men and one woman — were present at the party. Those present included former MLA Rohit Reddy, TDP Eluru MP Putta Mahesh Kumar, Ritesh Reddy, Namit Mishra, M Ramesh, Shravan Kumar, Vijay Krishna, Ravi and Arjun Reddy.
Initial drug screening showed five people testing positive: Rohit Reddy, Namit Mishra, Ritesh Reddy, Kaushik Ravi and Arjun Reddy.
“For further investigation, all of them have been sent for additional sample tests. Legal action will be taken after the complete reports are received,” Gautam said.
