Khammam crash kills student, mother on college journey
Telangana : An 18-year-old student who had secured a mining engineering seat at Osmania University and his mother were killed after a DCM vehicle collided with their car on the Khammam-Devarapalli Greenfield Highway on Thursday.
The student’s father suffered serious injuries and is undergoing treatment in hospital.

Police said Papabathini Narasimha Rao and his wife Sujatha, 40, of Gandhinagar in Chintakani mandal have two sons. Their elder son, Umesh Chand, is studying engineering in Hyderabad.
Their younger son, Pawan Kumar, 18, had failed to secure a college seat last year. After studying for another year, he secured a seat in the mining engineering course at Osmania University through engineering counselling this year.
Narasimha Rao, Sujatha and Pawan Kumar left home in their car on Thursday to complete his college admission. About 15 minutes after they started their journey, the accident occurred.
They entered the Greenfield Highway at Dhamsalapuram in Khammam Urban mandal. Near Gudimalla Thanda in Edulapuram municipality, an oncoming DCM vehicle collided with their car.

Circle inspector Mushka Raju said Sujatha and Pawan Kumar died on the spot.
Highway police extricated the bodies from the mangled car and rescued Narasimha Rao, who suffered serious injuries. He was shifted to hospital for treatment. The DCM driver suffered minor injuries.
Motorists alleged that vehicles were being allowed on the Greenfield Highway even though work on the route had not been completed fully, and said this led to the accident.
