Pawan Kalyan Urges Revanth Reddy To Strengthen Pocso Implementation

HYDERABAD: Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Pawan Kalyan has written to Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, urging the state government to strengthen the implementation of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012. He also sought faster justice and stronger protection for child victims.

Calls for stronger child protection

In his letter, Pawan Kalyan said every child has the right to safety, dignity and freedom from fear. He said protecting children from sexual offences is a constitutional duty under Articles 21, 39(e) and 39(f) of the Constitution.

He added that India also has a responsibility under the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child to protect children.

Urges priority for POCSO cases

Pawan Kalyan said the Supreme Court has repeatedly directed authorities to give the highest priority to POCSO cases.

He urged the Telangana government to strengthen the implementation of the POCSO Act. He also called for faster investigations, timely justice and better protection for child victims.
