HYDERABAD: The Telangana Save Education Committee (TSEC), Sangareddy district, accused local authorities of violating Supreme Court orders and issuing an inaccurate response after individuals allegedly demolished the compound wall and buildings at ZPHS boys’ school in Patancheru.

In a formal representation to the Sangareddy District Collector on Monday, the Committee alleged that unidentified individuals used JCB machines to demolish the school’s compound wall and buildings on the night of April 7, 2026, and endangered the future of nearly 800 students.

Providing legal context, the Committee noted that the Supreme Court protected the land with a stay order. In 2013, the Supreme Court explicitly permitted the government to construct a compound wall around the school premises. Y. Ashok Kumar, TSEC State Vice President, said, “The government built the wall with public funds and with the express permission of the Supreme Court. To now claim that someone demolished it ‘accidentally’ is nothing short of contempt of the highest court of the land.”

In their response, the local Tahsildar and MPDO claimed that the demolition occurred accidentally during the widening of National Highway NH-65. The Committee rejected this explanation, stating, “A building located nearly 10 feet away from the compound wall cannot collapse ‘accidentally’ due to road work. This appears to be a deliberate attempt to shield those who are encroaching on government land.”

Highlighting the impact on students, the Committee further noted that in 2013, after a report declared the building dilapidated, authorities relocated approximately 800 students to a primary school under difficult conditions. Instead of constructing a new building for these students in Patancheru, authorities have now demolished the remaining assets, the Committee stated.

Outlining their demands, the TSEC has submitted the following demands to the Sangareddy District Collector, immediately reconstruct a strong compound wall as permitted by the Supreme Court and build new classrooms in place of the demolished buildings, rather than a temporary shed as reportedly promised, remove encroachments by taking possession of the 9 guntas (approximately 0.09 acres) of land within the school premises currently under illegal occupation, initiate an inquiry against those responsible for the illegal demolition and against officials providing false information, appoint a skilled lawyer to represent the case before the Supreme Court, and install a permanent board indicating that the land is government property until the matter is resolved.

According to the Committee, a TSEC delegation has met with the ZP CEO and the Administrative Officer of the Zilla Parishad, requesting immediate action to protect the ZPHS Patancheru site, reconstruction of the demolished compound wall, appointment of a competent lawyer to argue the case before the Supreme Court, and installation of a permanent board indicating the land as government property until the matter is resolved.

Concluding with a call to action, the Committee urged the District Collector to intervene as the head of the district administration, protect government educational assets, and ensure justice for the 800 students affected by this dispute. The Committee submitted a copy of the Supreme Court’s interim orders, the permission letter for wall construction (dated November 11, 2013), the engineering department’s soundness certificate, and other relevant documents along with the representation.
