Passengers stranded at Secunderabad station as goods train derailment causes major disruptions
Secunderabad: Passengers at Secunderabad Railway Station were left frustrated and stranded as several trains were cancelled, diverted, or rescheduled due to the derailment of a goods train in Peddapalli district. The derailment, involving 11 wagons of a goods train carrying iron ore, occurred between Raghavapuram and Ramagundam, disrupting the railway network in the region.
In total, South Central Railway (SCR) cancelled 35 trains and diverted nearly 60 others. Among the affected services were the Jammu Tawi Express and other major trains traveling across Telangana, Maharashtra, and neighbouring states.
Cancelled Trains:
A total of 9 trains were cancelled, including the following:
07600 – Parli Vaijnath to Akola
07598 – Parli Vaijnath to Purna
07599 – Purna to Parli Vaijnath
07851 – Adilabad to Purna
07763 – Bidar to Kalaburagi
07748 – Bidar to Kalaburagi
07747 – Kalaburagi to Bidar
07764 – Kalaburagi to Bidar
17662 – Nagarsol to Kacheguda (scheduled for November 14)
Rescheduled Trains:
The following trains were rescheduled due to the disruption:
12723 – Hyderabad to New Delhi, rescheduled from 06:00 hrs to 18:00 hrs on November 13, 2024.
12791 – Secunderabad to Danapur, rescheduled from 09:25 hrs to 18:25 hrs on November 13, 2024.

Several trains were partially cancelled along their routes:
07774 – Akola to Parli Vaijnath (partially cancelled between Akola and Purna)
17233 – Secunderabad to Sirpur Kaghaznagar (partially cancelled between Peddapalli and Sirpur Kaghaznagar)
17234 – Sirpur Kaghaznagar to Secunderabad (partially cancelled between Sirpur Kaghaznagar and Peddapalli)
07181 – Purna to Jalna (partially cancelled between Purna and Parbhani)
