Hyderabad: A passenger was arrested at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA), Hyderabad, on March 5, 2025, for attempting to smuggle hydroponic weed. Acting on specific intelligence, airport authorities intercepted a female passenger arriving from Bangkok at the Green Channel of the International Arrival Hall.

Upon questioning and baggage inspection, authorities discovered 5,438 grams of hydroponic weed, concealed in her checked luggage. The seized narcotics have an estimated value of around Rs. 5.4 crore.

The passenger was arrested under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985, and remanded to judicial custody. An investigation is ongoing. This marks the third seizure of hydroponic weed at RGIA this year.
