Devotees perform special prayers at Palakurthy temple for India’s T20 World Cup victory.

HYDERABAD: Cricket fans organised special prayers at the Sri Someshwara Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple in Palakurthy of Jangaon district on Sunday, seeking India’s victory in the T20 World Cup final.

The entire country is gripped by World Cup fever, with fans hoping India will emerge as champions in the final match. Devotees offered special prayers, abhishekams and homams in temples, invoking divine blessings for the Indian team.

Priests conducted rituals in the names of Indian cricketers and performed homams seeking strength and success for Team India.

India enters final after strong run in tournament

India had earlier won its league matches comfortably. However, the team suffered a defeat against South Africa in the first Super-8 match.

Learning from that setback, India defeated subsequent opponents and boosted fan expectations by posting a big score against England in the semi-final.

India is set to face New Zealand in the World Cup final on Sunday.

Special prayers held across temples in Jangaon district

At the Sri Someshwara Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple in Palakurthy, cricket fans performed special abhishekams and offered prayers for India to win the T20 World Cup.

Devotees made offerings seeking victory for the team and conducted special archana in the names of Indian players.

Meanwhile, astrologers Devagiri Santosh Sharma and Shyam Sharma organised homams and chants under the banner of Sri Rajyashyamala Peetham.

At the Sri Rajarajeshwari temple in Kodakandla, devotees also performed special rituals and yajnas praying for India to win the World Cup.

Fans across the country are hoping India will emerge as world champions.
