Padi Kaushik Reddy apologises for remarks after controversy

HYDERABAD: Legislator Padi Kaushik Reddy on Monday said his controversial remarks were not intentional and issued an apology to anyone whose sentiments were hurt.
In a statement, Kaushik Reddy alleged that political hostility against him and his family was being fuelled with the encouragement of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy.
Remarks made under pressure, says MLA
The MLA said he held the police and government officials in high regard. However, he alleged that some officials stopped him and his associates while they were travelling to the Sammakka Jatara and subjected them to severe pressure.
“That frustration and pressure made me speak without realising it. Those words were not spoken with any deliberate intent,” he said.
Apology for hurt sentiments
Kaushik Reddy said he regretted the incident and apologised to anyone whose sentiments were hurt by his remarks. “If my words have caused pain to anyone, I sincerely apologise,” he said.
He also alleged that some people were deliberately spreading false propaganda over the issue and appealed to all concerned to bring the controversy to an end.
