Owaisi's Jail Remark Lights Up Zoo Park Aramghar Flyover Launch

Hyderabad: In a blend of humour and political camaraderie, Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi made a light-hearted remark at a public gathering. It was during the opening of the Zoo Park – Aramghar flyover in Hyderabad on Monday.

His lighthearted comment, made while applauding Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s visit to his former jail inmate Nagayya, set the tone for the meeting. Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi said, “Some people who haven’t gone to jail should go. Not many went to jail to understand the experience and they should go too, I was saying in a lighter note. There is no double meaning. I don’t know who will go to jail or not.”

Reflecting on his experience, Owaisi recalled his 50-day incarceration, courtesy of then-Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, quipping, “He made me his guest and put me in jail.”

Former Chief Minister Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy built the longest flyover in Telangana, the P V Narasimha Rao Express Highway, during the previous Congress rule.

“Shortly after taking power, the Congress government tried to solve every problem of the metropolis. We are ready to join hands and work in tandem with everyone for the development of Hyderabad. We will move forward with the AIMIM for city development. We pursue politics only during elections and collaborate for Hyderabad’s development. Development must become a people’s movement,” Reddy said.

Telangana will develop further once the Regional Ring Road work is completed. This is not an old city but the original city and original Hyderabad. The government will take up the construction of a cable bridge over Mir Alam Tank and develop it as the most attractive tourist spot, he said.

The current Congress government built the second largest flyover, completed in record time. This proves the highest onus on Congress, said Revanth Reddy. He added that Congress is focused on urban development. It is reimagining the capital as part of mission HyderabadRising.

Reddy added that the Metro rail expansion and Musi project aim to develop Hyderabad. They also seek to ensure long-term sustainability and address climate crises.
