Microsoft Expands India Cloud Network with New Hyderabad Region
HYDERABAD: Microsoft has announced the general availability of its India South Central cloud region in Hyderabad, giving customers the option to run eligible Microsoft Cloud services and workloads from the city.
Microsoft said, “The new cloud region expands India’s digital infrastructure by providing a local option to host cloud services. The region offers enterprise-grade security, reliability, and support for businesses using its cloud platform. The Hyderabad region will also help organisations adopt artificial intelligence (AI) technologies and modernise critical business systems.”
Built for AI workloads
The Hyderabad cloud region gives organisations greater flexibility to build digital services, speed up decision-making, and improve customer experiences. The company added that it plans to introduce more Microsoft Cloud services in the region over time.
According to Microsoft, the new cloud region includes enterprise-grade security, compliance, and governance features. The company said these capabilities will support organisations as they expand AI-powered applications and services.
Three Availability Zones for resilience
The India South Central cloud region includes three Availability Zones to improve the availability and resilience of mission-critical workloads.
The company said it designed the facilities to meet India’s regulatory requirements and seismic zone standards. According to Microsoft, the infrastructure is intended to support business continuity and reliable operations for customers running business-critical applications.
