HYDERABAD: Osmania University Registrar Prof. Laxminarayana stated that there is no closure of hostels during the summer vacation. “All hostels will remain open during whole vacation period. Students who are willing to go to their homes are requested to submit letters regarding the same.”

Students who fail to submit letters to the Chief warden or Wardens of hostels may have to pay the bills. “There are over 3000 students residing in ladies hostels. All the boarders of the hostel are instructed to submit a letter asking to close their mess cards temporarily while leaving. If they fail to submit letters, there will be uncertainty in the amount of food preparation.”

There are no major problems in the University hostels as falsely circulated on social media. “There is 24×7 electricity supply in all University hostels. Due to severe summer heat, a transformer blasted at Arts College, which caused interruption of power supply for four hours, which was resolved on the same day.”

“University hostels’ Chief warden has released summer vacation circular as same as every year. But some people are circulating fake notices and circulars to defame University’s and Government’s prestige.”

OU Police arrested Krishank for forgery:

BRS leader Manne Krishank was arrested by Osmania University after circulating a fake circular on his X (formerly Twitter) handle, which is related to Osmania University hostels and messes of the year 2023. Arrest was made after the Chief warden filed a complaint in the OU police station. Krishank was arrested under the section IPC 466 (forgery).
