Osmania University, ECIL Join Hands to Boost Research, Innovation and Student Skill Development

HYDERABAD: Osmania University and Electronics Corporation of India Limited (ECIL) will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote research, innovation and industry-oriented skill development. The two institutions discussed the proposal during a visit by Osmania University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Kumar Molugaram to the ECIL campus in Hyderabad on Saturday.
Osmania University, ECIL to strengthen industry-academia collaboration
ECIL Chairman and Managing Director Dr Anish Sharma and senior executives briefed the university delegation on the company’s Development and Research (D&R) activities. During the meeting, both institutions agreed to sign an MoU for joint research projects, industry-academia collaboration and skill development.
The partnership will give students and researchers greater exposure to industrial research. It will also help ECIL tap into the university’s academic expertise for research and innovation.
Vice-Chancellor urges early completion of MoU process
Prof. Kumar Molugaram praised ECIL’s technological achievements and highlighted the importance of practical learning for engineering students. He directed the Principal of the University College of Engineering (UCE) to complete all administrative and legal formalities so both institutions can sign the MoU at the earliest.
Dr Anish Sharma felicitated the Vice-Chancellor during the visit in recognition of his contribution to higher education.
Prof. P. Chandra Sekhar and Prof. D. Ramakrishna accompanied the Vice-Chancellor as members of the university delegation.
Partnership to boost research and innovation
The collaboration will strengthen research, innovation and technology transfer. It will also encourage closer cooperation between Osmania University and ECIL, creating more opportunities for students, researchers and industry.
