Man dies after car crashes into median on Hyderabad ORR

Hyderabad: A 30-year-old man died in a road accident on the Outer Ring Road (ORR) near Adibatla in the early hours of Friday.
The deceased has been identified as D Thirumalesh. According to the reports, he was driving back to Hyderabad from Shamshabad when he lost control of his car and crashed into a road median. The car, which was moving at high speed, flipped multiple times before coming to a stop.
Thirumalesh suffered serious injuries and died on the spot. The accident is suspected to have occurred between 4:30 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. Preliminary reports suggest that the driver may have fallen asleep at the wheel. Adibatla police responded to the scene and took up the rescue operation. The vehicle was heavily damaged in the crash.
Earlier, a traffic home guard died and two constables were injured after a speeding lorry crashed into a traffic booth near the Miyapur Metro Station late Monday night, April 7, 2025.
The incident occurred around 11:00 p.m. near pillar number 600, where the officers were managing a no-entry zone. The lorry, which had unloaded rice bags in Bharat Nagar, came from Kukatpally Road at high speed and hit the booth, causing it to collapse on the officers.
Home Guard Simhachalam, from Aamdalavalasa in the Srikakulam district, suffered a severe head injury. He was taken to a private hospital in Madinaguda but did not survive. Constables Rajavardhan and Vijender were also injured.
Rajavardhan sustained fractures to his arm and shoulder, while Vijender received minor injuries. The lorry driver, identified as Srinivas from Sadashivapet, was under investigation.
