Optum secures first place for highest employee participation in Hyderabad Marathon

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister Anumula Revanth Reddy presented awards to the winners in Marathon 2024 at Gachibowli stadium on Sunday. Of them, Optum, a digital health technology company based in Hyderabad secured first place for the highest employee participation in the Marathon. And this is not the first time, as Optum makes sure that hundreds of employees participate in the Marathon and also helps them by guiding with nutrition and coaching for an effective participation.

Optum emerged as a winner in the 2023 marathon as well with highest employee participation, showing the organization’s spirit for sportsmanship. Last year over, 1000 employees participated from the organization. Optum says that its mission is to create a healthier world.

Chief Minister’s vision for Hyderabad and its sportspersons

Speaking at this juncture, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy said that “Hyderabad is supposed to emerge as a big Sport Hub. The previous government neglected sports completely and the historic city of Hyderabad could not achieve any milestones in sports. My government is committed to promoting sports and necessary steps are being taken. Efforts are being made to encourage students to pursue sports as their life time career.” Revanth further added that Gachibowli will be developed as a sports village bringing the past glory.

Further, Revanth Reddy added that he aims to develop infrastructure for the sportspersons so that they would bring medals in the next Olympic games. “Government will start Young India Sports University in the next academic year. Will hire famous international coaches and provide training to the budding sports persons,” added CM Revanth Reddy.

“Briefed the Union Minister that the government will establish sports stadiums as per international standards so that the Olympics can be held in Hyderabad. We will promote Telangana as a destination for sports in the country,” added CM Revanth Reddy.
