Revanth Reddy Orders Hyderabad Security Boost, Proposes Cyber Cell To Tackle Fake News After Operation Sindhoor

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy praised the Indian Armed Forces for the precision strikes carried out during Operation Sindhoor, targeting terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). Calling the operation a source of national pride, he said it should be seen as a symbol of unity and solidarity.

The Chief Minister chaired an emergency review meeting at the Command Control Center in Hyderabad with senior officials from the Army, Police, Disaster Management, and other departments. He highlighted that the nation stands firmly behind its armed forces and said this is not a time for political or party interests. “All citizens should stand united. There is no room for division at this time,” CM Revanth Reddy stated.

He directed that all government employees in essential services remain on duty, cancelling all leaves. Ministers and senior officials have been asked to stay on standby. Foreign trips by government staff are to be cancelled with immediate effect.

Revanth Reddy further stated that, “Strict action will be taken against government employees making unauthorized public statements, including on social media. A 24/7 toll-free number should be set up to assist the public, and security forces have been instructed to detain individuals illegally residing in the state from countries such as Pakistan and Bangladesh.”

A dedicated information system will be established at the Command Control Center to coordinate efforts across departments. The Chief Minister also instructed officials to ensure law and order is maintained, and that those disturbing peace are dealt with firmly.

Blood banks are to be adequately stocked, and emergency medical supplies kept ready. Regular updates on bed availability in private hospitals must be maintained. Coordination with the Red Cross has been advised, and sufficient food supplies are to be ensured.

Cybersecurity measures are to be tightened. A special cell will be created to monitor and act against the spread of fake news and misinformation, which the Chief Minister warned could cause unnecessary panic.

CCTV cameras under all three police commissionerates in Hyderabad will be integrated with the Command Control Room. Security is to be increased across district headquarters, sensitive areas, foreign diplomatic missions, and IT company offices. Hyderabad Police have been directed to remain on high alert, and to consult peace committees where necessary.

Police are also to monitor known history-sheeters and individuals with prior criminal records.

“As an Indian citizen, I stand firmly in support of our Armed Forces. This courageous action by the Indian Army is a clear message to the world about our nation’s resolve to fight terrorism,” Revanth Reddy posted on his official X (formerly Twitter) account. “Let us all raise our voices and say — Jai Hind!”

The Chief Minister urged the public to remain calm but alert and to report any suspicious activity to authorities immediately.
