Banjara Hills: In a shocking incident, one woman died, and more than 20 people fell ill due to food poisoning after eating momos at a roadside food stall last Friday, October 25, 2024, in Nandi Nagar, Banjara Hills, Hyderabad.

The deceased has been identified as a married woman from Singadikunta. As the number of reported victims continues to rise, concern is growing within the community.

According to reports, many individuals have filed complaints with the Banjara Hills police, indicating that the total number of affected individuals may increase further. Those who consumed the momos from the local vendor experienced severe food poisoning symptoms, necessitating the hospitalisation of 20 individuals.

The incident came to light when multiple residents of Nandi Nagar reported symptoms including vomiting, diarrhea, and abdominal pain. The affected individuals were promptly rushed to nearby hospitals, where they are currently receiving treatment.

Following numerous complaints from residents, the Banjara Hills police have registered a formal complaint and initiated an investigation into the matter. Authorities have also collected food samples from the vendor for testing.
