Old city metro to be completed in 2029: TG CM Revanth Reddy in Assembly

Hyderabad : In a latest update from the Telangana Chief Minister, A Revanth Reddy, he reaffirmed that the extension of Hyderabad Metro rail in the Old City area would be completed in four years by 2029 in Congress government tenure itself. Revanth Reddy was responding to a remark made by All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) floor leader, Akbaruddin Owaisi on Saturday in the Telangana Legislative Assembly regarding the metro connectivity in Old City. Speaking about the Old City, Revanth Reddy said, “Old City is not an old habitation in Hyderabad. It is the original city.”

Reassuring about the completion of the Old City metro works, Revanth Reddy said, “Hundred percent metro rail is going to be completed in Old City. Proper planning is done, for the next elections we will come in Metro to Chandrayangutta and ask for votes at the Chandrayangutta Metro station itself. I am promising it. You have seen the previous government for ten years, spare us for four years. We will complete it.”

Old City metro from Gowliguda to Chandrayangutta

Revanth further said that the Metro Rail would be laid from Gowliguda Bus Stop running via Falaknuma till Chandrayangutta. A budget of Rs. 2675 crores rupees budget is also sanctioned and the works regarding the land acquisition are underway. If needed, I will give all the information related to the OldCity Metro rail to Akbaruddin Owaisi.”

He said that “The 7.5 kilometers stretch from Gowliguda bus stand to Chandrayangutta would be finished. As a Chief Minister, I am promising, We will finish the metro rail in the Old city and show. After the Congress government came to power, we have also laid foundation stone to there and submitted a report to the Union government for metro rail second phase project on a total 78 kilometers strech.” Recently, the Telangana government has also introduced a budget for the state in the Assembly sessions.
