HYDRAA: Occupied homes not demolished, no to new constructions in FTL

Hyderabad: Following outcry from the residents after demolitions in Madhapur and other areas in Hyderabad, the HYDRAA commissioner, AV Ranganath issued clarifications that they are not demolishing any residence that is occupied by people. However, any new construction coming up in these areas of the Full Tank level(FTL) or the Buffer zones would not be spared, warns HYDRAA.

In a statement, issued by the HYDRAA, it was said that “No house/ residence even if built in FTL/ Buffer and occupied by people will be demolished. Habitations/ Dwellings occupied will NOT be demolished.”

Clarifying about Sunday’s demolitions at the Sunnam Cheruvu, HYDRAA Said, “The structures demolished today in Madhapur Sunnam Cheruvu, Mallampet Cheruvu of Dundigal are under construction and Without permission coming in FTL/ Buffer Zones. Structures demolished at Ameenpur are mainly compound walls/ Rooms/ Sheds encroached/ Grabbed by Mr Katasani Ram Bhoopal Reddy Ex MLA Panyam AP. Some Sheds / Hotel constructed in Sunnam Cheruvu were being used commercially and fall in FTL .. they were demolished.”

Under construction buildings demolished

Meanwhile, clarifying about the Villas demolition, HYDRAA said, “Seven Villas demolished in Mallampeta Cheruvu, Dundigal are still under construction, are not occupied by any families and are in FTL without any building construction permissions. The builder is one Vijay Lakshmi (called lady Don locally), has many criminal cases booked against her and also connected to the local political leaders. Structures in Sunnam Cheruvu were demolished previously also … but they are again coming up and hence demolished today. Criminal cases / complaints were booked in the local Police stations on the builder Vijay Lakshmi/ Ex MLA Panyam Katasani Ram Bhoopal Reddy etc.”

Further, the HYDRAA assured that “We would like to assure all the people of Hyderabad that no house which is occupied will be demolished. However we request the public not to purchase any house/ flat/ land which falls in FTL/ Buffer Zone of any lake .If any such purchasers of properties have any doubt regarding FTL/ Buffer zones, they can check HMDA lakes web site or can approach us for clearing such doubts.”
