North Telangana braces for dry heat as temperatures set to touch 45°C

HYDERABAD: North Telangana is expected to witness intense dry heat, with temperatures likely to range between 42°C and 45°C over the coming days.
In contrast, districts including Khammam, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Mahabubabad and Suryapet are forecast to record slightly lower temperatures between 41°C and 43°C.
Dry heat to dominate northern belt conditions
Meteorological conditions indicate that North Telangana will experience predominantly dry heat. The absence of significant humidity is expected to keep the heat harsh but less oppressive compared to coastal or humid regions.
Such dry conditions typically lead to rapid dehydration and heat stress, especially during peak afternoon hours.
Humidity raises discomfort levels in southern districts
In Khammam, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Mahabubabad and Suryapet, higher humidity levels are likely to increase discomfort despite marginally lower temperatures.
The “real feel” or apparent temperature in these districts is expected to rise to 42°C–45°C due to moisture in the air, making conditions comparable to North Telangana.
Weather experts note that humidity reduces the body’s ability to cool itself, thereby intensifying the impact of heat.
