HYDRAA sets final deadline to remove unauthorised hoardings in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Hyderabad Disaster Response and Assets Protection Agency (HYDRAA) has said that the advertising agencies have time till Sunday, March 9, 2025 to take down their unauthorized advertisement hoardings in Hyderabad and if they don’t meet the deadline, the agency will remove them.
Earlier in the day, representatives of various advertising agencies met the HYDRAA Commissioner AV Ranganath at his office Buddha Bhavan as the agency had removed several unauthorised advertisement hoardings on the approach road to the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at Shamshabad.
According to reports, advertisement hoardings put up by various ad agencies such as Prakash Arts Pvt Ltd, Lead Space, UNI ADs and minor ad agencies such as PVS Ads, IKAR Ads, Ispace Advertisement, Surbhi Advertisement, UK Ads, B&M Ads, Sainath Ads, Foresite, I Catch have been brought to the notice of HYDRAA officials.
The administrative body responsible for giving permission to advertisement hoardings is expected to generate an income of over Rs. 100 crores, however, the income has drastically reduced to Rs. 20-30 crore, according to the official estimates.
During an interaction with the representatives, the HYDRAA Commissioner stated that the agency was not ready to give further exemptions for the removal of illegal hoardings as it is affecting the government revenue.
Meanwhile, the representatives from advertising agencies informed the Commissioner that they are ready to comply if the government formulates a new policy in terms of payment of advertisement fees.
In February 2025, HYDRAA officials carried out a special drive to remove unauthorized advertisement hoardings along the Hyderabad-Bengaluru National Highway, including those with expired permits and completely unauthorized ones that had no government approval or notice.
