Nizampet Municipality ignores multiple complaints about bad roads, say residents
Hyderabad: Residents of Pragathi Nagar, Vasanth Nagar Colony in Nizampet, have been enduring severe hardships due to deteriorating road conditions over the past year. The community is calling on the Nizampet Municipal Corporation to implement permanent solutions rather than temporary fixes, which have failed to address the issue.
Speaking with the Hyderabad Mail, Sai Teja, a local resident and social activist, expressed frustration with the persistent problems. “The roads in Nizampet are like never-ending stories. We are exhausted from lodging complaints about the deplorable state of the roads in Pragathi Nagar, Nizampet. Despite numerous submissions to the Nizampet Municipal Corporation, responses have been sporadic and ineffective. We have repeatedly requested for a permanent solution, but so far, only temporary fixes have been offered,” said Sai Teja.
Sai Teja further explained the dire situation, saying, “I have submitted several complaints to the authorities, but there has been no response. The condition of these roads is terrible, and at night, it is nearly impossible to identify potholes or manholes. This poses a serious risk of accidents. Over ten thousand people heavily use the road, yet the authorities continue to ignore our pleas.”
The lack of proper street lighting has compounded the issue, leading to numerous accidents as riders struggle to navigate the treacherous conditions. Sai Teja said, “The road is uneven, and many people are skidding off their bikes due to the poor conditions. I urge the authorities to take immediate action. We cannot keep going directly to the CDMA’s office for each issue. Despite promises made during the elections and the subsequent formation of the new government, no concrete steps have been taken to address our suffering.”
The residents are calling for urgent intervention to ensure the road is repaired permanently and to prevent further accidents and inconvenience.
