Nizamabad engineer found buried in Kuwait desert; acquaintance held
HYDERABAD: A 29-year-old mechanical engineer from Telangana’s Nizamabad district was allegedly buried in the Kuwait desert after dying in a suspected workplace accident, with police claiming the accused tried to conceal the incident.
Body allegedly buried to hide fatal accident
The deceased, identified as Kailash, was a native of Koratpalli Thanda in Dichpally mandal. He had travelled to Kuwait for employment and was working as a mechanical engineer in Al Salmi.
According to police, Kailash had recently come into contact with a father-and-son duo from the same region who were also living in Kuwait.
On March 19, the duo allegedly took Kailash to a desert location to repair a malfunctioning excavator. During the repair work, he is believed to have suffered a fatal accident. Police suspect the accused buried his body in the Salmi desert to conceal the incident before fleeing the spot.
CCTV footage leads investigators to suspect
After Kailash went missing, his relatives in Kuwait lodged a missing person’s complaint. The investigation was delayed due to prevailing regional tensions, sources said.
Investigators recently developed leads using CCTV footage and detained one suspect, bringing the case to light. Sources identified one of the accused as Ganesh, who had allegedly returned to his native village in Nizamabad without attracting suspicion.
After learning of the developments, Kailash‘s family approached the Dichpally police station seeking action. Police have registered a complaint and are making efforts to trace the absconding accused while coordinating with the authorities concerned.
