NIRMAL: Child follows father unnoticed before fatal accident
A 16-month-old girl died after being run over by a car driven by her father in Nirmal district on Monday.
The incident occurred in Borigam village of Tanur mandal. The child, identified as Sriyanshi, was playing with family members shortly before the accident.
Family visit turns tragic during wedding trip
According to police, Balerav Avadhoot and Sushma had migrated to Narketpally a year ago. They returned to their native village Borigam with their two daughters to attend a relative’s wedding.
On Monday afternoon, Avadhoot went to move the car parked in front of the house to a shaded area under a tree. His younger daughter followed him, but he did not notice her.
Police register case, investigation underway
As he reversed the vehicle, the child came under the tyre and suffered severe injuries. Family members who witnessed the incident rushed her to Bhainsa hospital, but she died on the way.
Sub-Inspector Shaik Zuber said a case has been registered and an inquiry is underway.
