HYDERABAD: Former minister Niranjan Reddy criticised the Speaker’s verdict, calling it a blow to democracy in Telangana.

Speaker decision termed blow to democratic system

He said the ruling undermines democratic values and weakens the constitutional framework meant to protect the legislative process.

Reddy alleged that the decision to give a clean chit to Danam and Kadiyam reflects political arbitrariness.

“The Speaker’s verdict is a blow to democracy,” he said, adding that Telangana is functioning under a “Congress constitution” instead of the Constitution drafted by B R Ambedkar.

Rahul Gandhi accused of ignoring democratic norms

Reddy also criticised Rahul Gandhi, saying the Congress leader, who often carries the Constitution in public meetings, has allowed democracy to be undermined in Telangana.

“Rahul Gandhi moves around with the Constitution in his hand, but he has abandoned democracy in Telangana,” Niranjan Reddy said.
