Nepali gang drugs staff, steals ₹20 lakh in Jubilee Hills

HYDERABAD: A Nepali gang carried out a high-value theft at a house in Jubilee Hills after drugging an apartment watchman and domestic workers with a spiked soft drink, police said.
Birthday ruse used to drug watchman, workers
According to police, the incident occurred on Thursday night in Nandagiri Hills. A man identified as Bhuvan, a native of Nepal, had joined the household as a cook about 15 days ago.
Police said Bhuvan told the watchman and other staff that it was his birthday and offered them a soft drink mixed with a sedative. After they lost consciousness, he allegedly allowed three other Nepali accomplices into the house.
Gold jewellery, cash stolen; case registered
The accused decamped with gold jewellery and cash after ensuring that no family members were present at the time. The total value of the stolen property is estimated at around ₹20 lakh.
Police registered a case and launched an investigation to trace the accused and recover the stolen property.
