HYDERABAD: Navodaya Welfare Society has submitted a formal complaint to the GHMC Commissioner, R. V. Karnan IAS, alleging that Ramky & Integrated Municipal Solid Waste Management is not complying with orders issued by the National Green Tribunal.

In November 2025, the National Green Tribunal (NGT) fined the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) and its waste management contractor, Ramky Environ Engineers Limited, Rs 1 lakh for disobeying its earlier order regarding the Jawahar Nagar dumpsite.

The complaint, filed by P. Shelesh Sandeep Raj, President of Navodaya Welfare Society, references an NGT order from November 10, 2025. The Tribunal had prohibited dumping fresh waste at a capped site in the Jawahanagar area.

The welfare society alleges that the waste management agency under GHMC continues to dump waste at the site in violation of the NGT directive. The organization expressed concern that these actions are bringing disrepute to GHMC and causing distress to residents near the site.

The complaint, addressed to the GHMC Commissioner at CC Complex, Adarsh Nagar, Tank Bund Road, Liberty, Hyderabad, includes photographic evidence and a copy of the NGT order with relevant sections highlighted.

Meanwhile Sandeep Raj, society’s President has requested the Commissioner to investigate the matter, examine how the agency is operating, and assess the impact on residents around the waste dump site.
