Narnoor police book man for distributing cash to voters

ADILABAD: A man was booked in Narnoor in the early hours of December 10 for allegedly distributing cash to voters in violation of election rules ahead of the 2025 panchayat polls.
Cash seized during late-night check
According to Narnoor circle inspector Anjamma, the case was registered under Cr.No.134/2025 at Narnoor police station under provisions of the Panchayati Raj Act. The action followed a complaint from the Narnoor flying squad.
Deputy tahsildar Rathod Soraji, who is in charge of the ITDA Utnoor flying squad team deployed in Narnoor, received credible information around 12.30am on December 10 about cash being distributed in the Muslimwada locality of Narnoor village.
Accused admits motive, say police
Soraji and his team reached the spot and found a man moving suspiciously. On checking him, officials recovered ₹10,000 in ₹200 notes. During inquiry, he identified himself as Ade Suresh, 43, son of Dhool Singh, a resident of Vijayanagar Colony in Narnoor.
Police said Suresh admitted he was distributing cash to influence voters to support his wife, who is contesting for sarpanch.
Police caution against election inducements
The seized cash was handed over to the concerned authorities. Police warned that strict action would be taken against anyone offering inducements such as cash, liquor or gifts to voters.
