Nara Ramamurthy Naidu, brother of Andhra CM Chandrababu Naidu, passes away at 72
Gachibowli: Nara Ramamurthy Naidu, the elder brother of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, passed away on November 16, 2024, at the age of 72. He was undergoing treatment at AIG Hospitals in Gachibowli, Hyderabad, where he breathed his last at 12:45 p.m.
In an official statement, Dr. P. Naveen Chander Reddy, Consultant Physician and Medical Director at AIG Hospitals, confirmed the news. According to the hospital’s report, Nara Ramamurthy Naidu had been diagnosed with non-communicating normal pressure hydrocephalus and had undergone a ventriculoperitoneal (VP) shunt procedure. He was also dependent on a tracheostomy tube to prevent aspirations and had received intermittent ventilatory support during episodes of respiratory distress.
The report detailed that on the evening of November 14, 2024, Nara Ramamurthy Naidu was brought to AIG Hospitals in a state of cardiac arrest at around 8:00 p.m. Despite undergoing an hour-long cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), he remained critically unstable, with low blood pressure, a weak pulse, and heart failure due to severe left ventricular dysfunction and metabolic acidosis.
“Despite maximum inotropic support and intra-aortic balloon pump assistance, the patient’s condition did not improve,” the report stated. “On November 16, 2024, he developed asystole and suffered another cardiac arrest. Despite all efforts to revive him, he could not be resuscitated and passed away at 12:45 p.m.”
