Hyderabad cybercrime police arrest accused in online trading fraud case

HYDERABAD: Cyber fraud incidents in Nampally police station limits left two women cheated of nearly ₹1.59 lakh, police said.

According to Inspector C.H. Saidulu, a 22-year-old woman from Shantinagar in Nampally clicked on a link shared on Instagram while searching for an online job. Soon after, ₹90,000 was debited from her bank account. The victim approached Nampally police station and lodged a complaint.

Police said the link was part of a fraud network targeting job seekers through social media platforms. The case has been registered and is under inquiry.

Service request scam costs another victim ₹60,000

In another incident, a woman from AC Guards searched online for a service provider to repair a machine at her home. Cyber fraudsters gained access and withdrew ₹60,000 from her account.

Both victims filed complaints, and police are investigating the cases.
