Nampally CBI Court Receives RDX Bomb Threat Mail

HYDERABAD: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court at Nampally received a bomb threat email on Thursday, warning of explosions at 12:05 pm using 12 RDX bombs.
The email claimed that three improvised explosive devices (IEDs) made with RDX had already been placed at “critical spots” inside the judge’s chamber and court premises. It stated that the devices would detonate when individuals carrying remote triggers came within 100 feet of the building.
The message further warned that if the devices failed to activate, the attackers would enter the court complex and carry out a suicide blast. The senders claimed responsibility and urged authorities to evacuate the premises.
The email also mentioned the names Arun Kumar and Sunniya Das Prasad, identifying them as former Q branch (Crime Branch-Criminal Investigation Department II) inspectors of the 1986 batch from Nagapattinam. The claims could not be independently verified.
Threat Links to Tamil Nadu Allegations
The mail alleged that constables in Tamil Nadu were being forced to perform personal chores and claimed the threat was intended to highlight demands related to the 1979 Nainar Das Police Union recommendations. It also referred to individuals named Aakash Bhaskaran and Nivetha Pethuraj.
Police evacuated court staff immediately after receiving the email. Bomb squad officials launched searches across the premises. No explosives had been found at the time of filing this report.
