Nalgonda X Roads steel flyover to open in Hyderabad today
HYDERABAD: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy will inaugurate the 3.32-km Nalgonda X Roads steel flyover on Thursday. The new flyover will create a signal-free corridor between Nalgonda X Roads and Owaisi Hospital Junction.
The ₹620-crore project aims to ease traffic along the busy Nalgonda X Roads-Saidabad-IS Sadan corridor. The four-lane flyover has 88 spans, officials said.
The project could cut travel time sharply. During peak congestion, the journey currently takes around 35 minutes. Once the flyover opens, officials expect it to take just five to eight minutes.
Traffic restrictions for inauguration
Hyderabad Traffic Police will impose traffic restrictions and diversions from 2 pm to 7 pm on September 3 for the inauguration.
The police will close the stretch between Saidabad Y Junction and Nalgonda X Road during the programme. Commuters should avoid the route, as traffic may build up on nearby roads.
Vehicles from Nalgonda X Road towards Saidabad Y Junction, Santosh Nagar and IS Sadan will take an alternate route via Malakpet Gunj, Moosarambagh X Road and Gaddiannaram X Road before proceeding towards Champapet and DMRL Rotary.
Vehicles from IS Sadan X Road towards Nalgonda X Road will divert at Saidabad Y Junction. The route will pass through DCP-III Office, Saidabad Law & Order Police Station, Saraswathi Nagar Kaman, Sankeshwar Bazar and Gaddiannaram X Road before reaching Nalgonda X Road.
Commuters should plan their journey in advance and allow extra travel time during the inauguration hours.
