Police destroying modified silencers seized from bikes in Nalgonda

NALGONDA: Police in Nalgonda town destroyed 72 modified silencers fitted to two-wheelers as part of a drive against excessive noise pollution.

Police intensify checks against noise pollution violations

Officials said many riders had altered factory-fitted silencers to produce high-decibel sounds, causing inconvenience to residents, especially in residential areas and near hospitals. The drive was conducted following complaints from the public.

Criminal cases likely for repeat offenders using illegal silencers

Police warned that those who modify silencers and continue to use them in violation of norms will face criminal cases under relevant provisions. Vehicles found with such modifications may also be seized during inspections.

Awareness drive planned to enforce traffic discipline

Authorities said they will continue special checks in the coming days and conduct awareness programmes on road safety and traffic rules. Citizens were urged to cooperate with enforcement teams and report violations.
