Four family members die in Nalgonda road crash
NALGONDA: Four members of the same family were killed after a private bus allegedly lost control and rammed into a Swift car near Pedakaparthy village in Chityal mandal of Nalgonda district on Sunday.
According to police, the bus collided head-on with the car, leaving it mangled due to the impact. Four occupants of the car died on the spot, while the driver suffered serious injuries. He was shifted to a nearby hospital, where he is undergoing treatment.
On receiving information, Chityal police rushed to the accident site and launched rescue operations with the help of local residents. The bodies were shifted to Nalgonda Area Hospital for post-mortem, while the injured driver was admitted to hospital.
Traffic on the stretch was disrupted for some time before police cleared the damaged vehicles and restored normal movement. A case has been registered, and an investigation is under way to ascertain the exact cause of the accident.
The identities of the deceased are yet to be officially confirmed. Police said further details would be released after informing the victims’ family members and completing the preliminary investigation.
