South Hyderabad flyover project nears completion

HYDERABAD: A key flyover connecting Nalgonda crossroads, Saidabad and IS Sadan with Owaisi Junction is likely to be completed by April 2026, easing traffic congestion in South Hyderabad, officials said.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation commissioner R V Karnan on December 30 inspected the project and reviewed the progress of work on the corridor, which is being developed as a conflict-free zone, according to a press release.
2.53-km corridor under EPC mode
The project includes a 2,530-metre-long main flyover being built at an estimated cost of ₹620 crore under the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) or turnkey mode, under which a single contractor executes the entire work. Officials told the commissioner that nearly 80% of the construction has been completed.
Traffic diversions, land acquisition flagged
During the inspection, Karnan instructed engineers and contractors to expedite the remaining works and ensure that the corridor is made operational by April 2026. He directed officials to secure traffic diversion permissions for the critical stretch between Saidabad and Dhobighat Junction to avoid delays.
The commissioner also asked officials to complete land acquisition for the service roads at the earliest to ensure smooth traffic flow once the corridor opens. The flyover is expected to reduce travel time and ease pressure on arterial roads in South Hyderabad after commissioning.
