Nalgonda Fire Officer caught by ACB while taking ₹8,000 bribe

HYDERABAD: Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials on October 16, 2025, caught A. Satyanarayana Reddy, Station Fire Officer (SFO), Nalgonda, while he was allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹8,000 from a complainant.
Bribe amount recovered from bike tank cover, says ACB
According to the ACB, the officer had demanded the money to process the complainant’s temporary licence application for issuing a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to run a firecracker shop. The bribe amount was recovered from the officer’s bike tank cover at his instance.
Officials said Reddy had performed his duty “improperly and dishonestly” to obtain undue advantage. He was arrested and produced before the I Additional Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases, Nampally, Hyderabad. The case is under investigation.
The ACB appealed to the public to report any bribe demand by government officials by contacting the toll-free number 1064, WhatsApp 9440446106, or through social media platforms such as Facebook (Telangana ACB) and X (formerly Twitter) @TelanganaACB. The bureau assured that the identity of complainants would be kept confidential.
