NALGONDA: Four people died and six others were injured in a road accident near Devatpalli Gate in Nampally mandal of Nalgonda district on Sunday.

Auto–lorry collision near Devatpalli Gate

Police said the accident occurred when an auto-rickshaw carrying passengers collided with a lorry near Devatpalli Gate. The impact of the collision was severe, leaving four occupants dead on the spot.

Local residents alerted the police and emergency services soon after the crash. Police and rescue personnel rushed to the scene and shifted the injured to a nearby hospital.

Two injured shifted to Hyderabad

Six passengers sustained injuries in the accident. Doctors said two of them were in critical condition and were referred to Hyderabad for advanced treatment.

The injured were first given primary treatment at a local hospital before being shifted. The accident caused traffic disruption on the stretch for some time before police cleared the road.

Police registered a case and began an investigation to ascertain the circumstances that led to the collision. The identities of the deceased are yet to be confirmed.
