Nagole delivery boy returns ₹2 lakh cash

HYDERABAD: A Zepto delivery executive returned ₹2 lakh in cash that he found on a road in Nagole, prompting police to honour him for his honesty.
Cash falls from bike cover on busy road
According to Nagole Inspector Maqbool Jani, Prashanth, a resident of Padmavathi Nagar in Nagole, runs a medical shop in Bandlaguda. On Tuesday morning, he kept ₹5 lakh in a plastic bag and placed it inside his bike cover before leaving for his shop.
During the journey, bundles of cash reportedly fell one after another from the vehicle.
Delivery executive takes money to police station
Near the road leading to Jaipuri Colony at Bandlaguda crossroads, ₹2 lakh fell onto the road. Sheikh Vali, 29, a Zepto delivery executive travelling behind Prashanth, noticed the cash.
Vali stopped his vehicle and tried to call out to Prashanth, but he had already moved ahead. He then took the cash directly to Nagole police station and handed it over to Inspector Maqbool Jani.
Meanwhile, Prashanth also reached the police station and informed police that he had lost the money. Police later returned the ₹2 lakh to him.
Police honour delivery executive for honesty
Inspector Maqbool Jani felicitated Sheikh Vali by draping a shawl over him and appreciating his honesty.
Police said the remaining ₹3 lakh had fallen further ahead on the route. Prashanth later recovered ₹2.5 lakh on his own, while ₹50,000 is still missing.
Nagole police registered a case and launched an inquiry to trace the remaining amount.
