Neglected National Flag Sparks Outrage at Nagole Musi
HYDERABAD: A national flag installed near the Musi river at Nagole in LB Nagar fell to the ground after the flagpole’s iron ropes snapped, triggering criticism over alleged official negligence.
Flag remains unattended after falling
According to local residents, the flag fell on Monday night after it was torn due to poor maintenance. It remained on the ground until Wednesday night, when lower-level staff removed it and kept it aside instead of restoring it.
The sight of the national flag lying on the ground has drawn anger from residents, who said the incident reflects a lack of respect towards a national symbol.
Residents seek immediate repairs
Residents alleged that the Musi Riverfront Development Corporation Limited (MRDCL) did not carry out repairs after the ropes attached to the flagpole snapped. They demanded immediate restoration of the flagpole and the installation of a new national flag in a dignified manner.
They also called for action against officials responsible for the alleged negligence and urged the authorities to ensure that the national flag is accorded the respect it deserves.
