HYDERABAD: Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (RTC) Managing Director Nagireddy on Wednesday urged employees to return to duty immediately and avoid being misled.

He said the ongoing strike is illegal, especially when discussions are underway with the labour commissioner. “Going on strike while talks are in progress is against the law,” Nagireddy said.

Nagireddy said the government has already constituted a committee of Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers to examine the workers’ demands. He warned that strict action would be taken against those participating in an unlawful strike.

He added that the government remains receptive to the concerns of RTC employees and is willing to resolve them through dialogue.

The Managing Director appealed to employees not to disrupt public transport services. He cautioned that repeated strikes would push the RTC into losses again.

“Problems can be resolved only through discussions, not through strikes,” Nagireddy said.
