Three children drown in Nagarkurnool village pond
TELANGANA: A tragic incident was reported from Nagarkurnool district, where three children drowned after accidentally falling into a water pond while playing near agricultural fields.
Children fall into pond while playing
The incident occurred at Mucherla Palle village in Urkonda mandal. The children had gone to the outskirts of the village to play on farmland when they slipped and fell into a water-filled pit located near the fields.
According to local residents, the area is frequently accessed by children, especially during the daytime, as it lies close to the habitation. The deaths triggered shock and grief in the village.
Victims identified as three minors
Police identified the deceased as Madhu Siri, 14, and Sneha and Srimanyu, both aged 11. All three were residents of the same village.
Police register case, begin inquiry
The Urkonda police station sub-inspector visited the spot soon after receiving information, inspected the location and registered a case. An inquiry has been initiated to ascertain the circumstances leading to the incident.
