‘N-Convention built on a Patta land’: Actor Nagarjuna responds to encroachment allegations

Hyderabad: Following the demolition drive of Akkineni Nagarjuna’s N Convention hall beside the Tummidikunta Lake in Hyderabad, Nagarjuna gave a statement saying that he has constructed N Convention on a patta land, which is a registered land. And he also requested fans not to divulge in any speculations about it.
In a statement, Akkineni Nagarjuna wrote that the news items about celebrities can often be exaggerated and speculated for effect. “I would like to reiterate that the land on which N-convention has been built is a Patta Documented land. Not even one cent of the land beyond that has been encroached upon.”
Nagarjuna also mentioned that a special court of Andhra Pradesh passed a judgment that Tummidikunta lake was not encroached. “The Special court of AP Land Grabbing (prohibition) Act has given a judgment passing an order Sr.3943/2011 on 24-02- 2014 saying no encroachment has happened in Tummidikunta Lake.”
Nagjaruna added that he would abide by the law and the judgment given by the court. Now the formal argument is already presented in front of the esteemed High Court. I will abide by the law of the land and judgment. Until then, I sincerely request you not to indulge in speculation, any sort of rumors, misrepresentation of facts and deviations.”
HYDRAA demolition drives
N-Convention is one of the many properties that were demolished by the HYDRAA in recent times. For the last three months, HYDRAA in its demolition drive, reclaimed over 43 acres of land, which were allegedly encroached by various stakeholders, including politicians, celebrities and other high profile people.
HYDRAA is continuing its work, amidst criticism from politicians and support from some environmentalists. With these demolitions, several netizens are also questioning the HYDRAA about the various other encroachments that took place in the past using the satellite imagery through Google maps.
