No more Bolly Vs Tolly: Nag Ashwin shuts Arshad controversy on Prabhas looks in Kalki 2898AD
Hyderabad: Kalki 2898 AD director, Nag Ashwin finally responded to the controversy of Bollywood Vs Tollywood, that is brewing in the film industry after Bollywood actor Arshad Warsi commented on actor Prabhas’s look from his latest film.
Earlier, in an interview, actor Arshad Warsi said that he ‘did like the film Kalki 2898 AD’, which is directed by Nag Ashwin and ‘liked Amitabh Bachchan’s character’. He further added that Prabhas looked like ‘joker’ in the film, that ignited a spark of controversy, which blew upto ‘Bollywood versus Tollywood’. Several Tollywood actors from Sudheer Babu, Siddhu Jonnalagadda to Nani commented on this and questioned the criticism of Arshad and his choice of words.
Now, adding a final nail on the coffin, Nag Ashwin for the first time, commented on his social media platform, X, previously known as Twitter and asked netizens not to go backwards in their thinking. He was replying to a comment made by a user, who was elevating a scene from Kalki 2898 AD comparing it with Bollywood.
In his reply, Nag Ashwin said, “Let’s not go backwards..no more north-south or bolly vs tolly..eyes on the bigger picture.. United Indian Film Industry..Arshad saab should have chosen his words better..but it’s ok..sending buji toys 4 his kids..il work hard so tweets fdfs that prabhas was the best ever in k2.”

Meanwhile replying to another user, who said why should we remain calm, while they are ‘spreading hate’, Nag Ashwin said, “Too much hate in the world already bro…we can try not to add to it..I know prabhas garu will also feel the same.”
Kalki 2898AD is a mangum opus project that showcases a futuristic science fiction drama. The movie stars top actors including, Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Deepika Padukone, Vijay Devarakonda, Mrunal Thakur among others. As of now the film is also available on Netflix and Amazon Prime India for audiences to watch on OTT platforms.
