Musarambagh bridge closed as Musi river flood rises

HYDERABAD: The Musi river flood level continued to rise on Saturday as heavy inflows from Himayat Sagar and Osman Sagar reservoirs reached the city.
Officials closed the Musarambagh bridge after the river swelled, making traffic movement unsafe. Barricades were placed on both sides, and vehicles were diverted through Golnaka.
With heavy rain lashing both Telangana and upstream states, the Musi is receiving large volumes of water. Locals said frequent flooding in the area has disrupted connectivity, as the new bridge at Musarambagh remains incomplete.
“Every time the Musi swells, this bridge gets closed. The government must finish the new bridge at the earliest,” residents said.
