Teen girl murdered in Warasiguda

MUSHEERABAD: A 17-year-old Intermediate student was killed in Warasiguda on Thursday when a youth, said to be her maternal uncle, slit her throat in front of her mother.
Girl attacked with knife inside the house
Police said the youth entered the home and attacked the teenager with a knife while her mother watched helplessly. He then left the weapon and his mobile phone at the spot before fleeing.
Police collect clues, probe motive
Warasiguda police reached the scene, examined the body and began collecting forensic evidence with the help of the clues team. Officers said the motive behind the murder is yet to be established.
Accused absconds after leaving weapon
The police have formed teams to trace the accused and are verifying call records and local CCTV footage.
