Fire breaks out at women’s hostel in Musheerabad

Hyderabad: A fire broke out at a women’s hostel in Musheerabad on Wednesday after a geyser exploded due to a short circuit in a washroom.
Short circuit triggers blaze in Gandhinagar hostel
The incident occurred at Sudhama PG Accommodation for Women in Gandhinagar, under the limits of the Musheerabad police station. Flames spread rapidly following the explosion, sending thick smoke billowing out of the building.
Two women rescued using ladder; no casualties reported
During the fire, two women who were inside the hostel were rescued by local residents using a ladder. Fire and police personnel rushed to the spot after being alerted and brought the blaze under control using three fire engines.
Police check fire safety compliance
No students were present in the hostel at the time of the incident, preventing a major tragedy. However, furniture, clothes and other household items were completely gutted in the fire. Police said they are collecting details from the hostel management and are probing whether mandatory fire safety norms were followed.
