MULUGU: Panic gripped the district court in Mulugu on Monday after authorities received a bomb threat email during a programme marking World Water Day.

According to court officials, the email claimed that explosives had been planted on the premises. “The email claimed that bombs were planted in the court, hence all lawyers and clients have been asked to leave the premises, and the court proceedings have been adjourned,” officials said.

Police immediately evacuated the premises and deployed a bomb squad to conduct searches. Visuals circulating online showed police and bomb disposal teams stationed outside the court complex.

Authorities said an investigation is underway to trace the origin of the email. Further details are awaited.

Previous threat reported in Warangal district court

This is the second such incident reported in Telangana within a week. On March 18, the Warangal district court received a similar bomb threat email.

Police had then conducted a detailed search of the premises and surrounding areas for about an hour. The threat was later declared a hoax.

Police step up probe into repeated threat emails

Officials have not confirmed any explosives at the Mulugu court so far. Security agencies are examining whether the two incidents are linked.

Police said they would share more information after completing preliminary investigations.
